“The Brand Anna fading up from the Market”
I hope
everyone is aware of name Anna Hazare, a most talked personality in recent time
in India, for his fight against corruption.
What happened
to a big brand named Anna, which had cr of followers during April and August
agitation, could not attract people in his antigraft movement in Mumbai started
on 27th Dec, 201(and got over next day). Is it right to say that The
Brand Anna is fading up from the market?
I will say,
Yes, Brand Anna is fading up from the market.
What I think,
he himself is responsible for his fall. Some mistake I think Anna did:
1. Impatience
2. Chose wrong
place for fast
3. Support to
opposition political parties
4. Stubborn
behavior
5. Wrong time
for agitation
As per first
reason lack of patience, why Anna went for fast amidst the Lokpal was in
discussion phase in parliament. Why Anna didn’t wait for the parliament
outcome? Government cannot implement such a crucial bill in short period of
time. It need time.
As per second
reason, Anna chose wrong place for agitation like Mumbai which is less prune to
political activities. In Mumbai everything has a cost, and every day brings
with it a new set of trade-offs, choices that inevitably involve consequences.
The overriding priority in Mumbai is to maximize the opportunity value of time.
The Lokpal agitation was a worthy cause but one where the returns on personal
time invested did not seem adequate. The Anna Hazare led movement might
have ranged against the government, but it needed a city that understood the
power of government as its base
After becoming
a strong brand in the market Anna started involvement in political issues. This
directly had impact on brand name Anna? As he said in Mumbai’s MMRDA
grounds that team Anna will campaign against the congress party in the
forthcoming election. Anna is fighting for social cause not for politics.
Now the movement looks like removing the congress from power.
Anna stick to
his point like inclusion of PM, CBI in under Lokpal. If government says yes
than its ok otherwise I will continue my fast a type of childish behavior. This
also direct had impact on brand name Anna.
Last one is
the bad time for agitation. As yearend it was vacation time. People in Mumbai
chose to enjoy vacations in lieu of wasting time in following agitation
As we all know
a brand needs to be loyal and proactive to its audience that Anna couldn’t be.
In long run I think it will destroy its core branding. With it, Congress will
also have impact on Brand Anna. Now Congress has some chances to improve it
Brand value by doing something which is beneficial for society to fad up the
Brand Anna impact from the market.
